Today I learned that yeast is important when making bread because it creates bubbles and helps the bread rise. Yeast creates bubbles when it burps out carbon dioxide and it helps the bread rise. I have also learnt that it is important to knead bread because it turns the gluten into a gluten network. This helps block all of the carbon dioxide in the bread.
I really enjoyed the lesson today. Today I learnt that yeast is important when making bread because it helps it to rise. Bread needs yeast because otherwise it will not rise. Yeast creates carbon dioxide in the bread which makes it rise. You have to knead bread to create the gluten network which is a cage that keeps in the bubbles.

Today I learnt that when warm water touches the yeast it creates a gas called carbon dioxide as a result this creates bubbles. We keep the carbon dioxide in by putting the bread in the oven. Eventually the heat will kill the yeast. Yeast is a type of fungi (which is eatable).
